    SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)/ NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority)

    School safety has been defined as the creation of safe environments for children starting from their homes to their schools and back. This includes safety from natural hazards of geological/climatic origin, human-made risks, transportation, and other related emergencies.

     

    1. PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE AT THE LOCAL LEVEL
      • The school has nominated a safety focal point teacher.
      • The school has sensitized the school management committee.
      • The school has developed a cadre of peer educators.

       

    2. SCHOOL DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN HAS
      • Systems of warning (centralized PA system).
      • Identification of evacuation routes.
      • Access by emergency vehicles.
      • Care of children with special needs.
      • Arrangement for orderly release of students during emergency.
      • Stockpiling of emergency equipment and regular maintenance.
      • Site map indicating evacuation routes and assembly areas.

       

    3. SOP FOR DEALING WITH TERRORIST ATTACKS PREVENTIVE MEASURES TAKEN BY VIDYALAYA
      • Boundary wall around Vidyalaya building.
      • Emergency numbers displayed.
      • Illumination around the boundary.
      • CCTV Cameras.
      • Centralised PA system.
      • Alarm system.
